From Houston, to San Antonio and Dallas, Texas has three of the top 10 largest cities in the United States, with two more in the top 15.

The Lone Star state also boasts the second largest landmass and the second largest population in the entire country. The state has earned the distinction of being named the best state to open a business in by both CNBC and CEO magazine, and there are several reasons why this is the case. One of the most important being the fact that the state has an abundance of talent. Sure, the large population helps, but the several large, local universities help provide educated employees as well. Texas also offers significant tax benefits for opening a business in the state, including no corporate income tax and no individual income tax, making it one of the lowest tax burdens in the nation. Texas might be known for the benefits they give large corporations, but that same friendly climate is available to small businesses and franchises as well, with high marks for ease of hiring employees, limited regulations, incredible training programs and incentives. Texas also has a world-class transportation network and over 380 airports (including the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport which is one of the top five busiest airports in the country). On top of that, Texas has one of the lowest costs of housing in the entire country, making owning property and living there cheaper than many parts of the United States.
